Hello again,

It has been awhile since my last entry. What are we covering today? Home based businesses and online get rich quick [I guess they want us to call them, IDEAS...lol]

Ever since the introduction of what we like to now call 'let's google it' and 'e-books' there is an unlimited supply of making money ideas and quick money, and fast money, and make money while you sleep, and on and on. Pets and shopping, dogs and malls and coffee shops and...

Your Pet and my space... This is not a political statement it is more of my OCD and my personal space.

I remember growing up in Europe, when walking your dog in public [meaning outside on the sidewalk or park, not indoors at starbucks or restaurants and now shopping malls] you would place a muzzle on your pet. Now we went from that to eating with the dogs, sharing our food in public places, and using our serviettes and cloth napkins, plates and utensils...

I love animals and enjoy their company, but not at my local Starbucks, or favorite restaurant, again, I am alone on this, it's probably my Obsessive Compulsive and Clean Freak, and carry my Purell everywhere I go attitude. Why is it that a crying baby at the local book store frustrates us more than the dog sitting next to us in the same book store thats barking at everyone walking by? Oh well, just something I think about.

How many times do you go to the mall with your wife or girlfriend just to walk around and browse and you pass by a kiosk and they start pitching you on their products. I thought we lived in the United States, we are mature enough individuals to make our own decision and are old enough to ask questions. This reminds me of the time I was in Jamaica [or most of the Caribbean Islands] where you are being approached from all sides, people trying to sell their products, which is expected and understood by most tourists, but, not in shopping malls here at home.

If the Kiosk Employee has the right to just approach you and touch you and grab you and start harassing you, then why not the other retail stores, why not just have people wandering around the mall and handing out flyers, and bothering each and every customer walking in and out of the malls. How do malls allow this and what precedent are they setting or allowing to be set. I do not want to go to the mall and be harassed. It's enough that I can't walk down the street to a restaurant without being approached by someone asking me for something [money] at least some of them have a great Pitch [stories].

A Kiosk employee is also know as a bunch of guys standing on the corner watching a beautiful girl walk by, and waiting for the girl to make eye contact with them, but she instead does one of the following;

1: She puts her head down and acts as though the guys don't exist
2: Turns and runs the other way.
3: Appears to be in a deep conversation with someone on her cell phone.
4: Last but by no means the Least, tells them off...

Maybe it's me? It's you, as my family says, "you are the only one bothered by things", or my favorite "what's the big deal". I always answer them the same way, 'If it bothers me, it's a big deal to me.' Oh, well, I guess I am alone on this one.

As I was waiting to watch the Champions League Football match [soccer] and trying to send a very important email to a business associate of mine, what happens, my Cable provider [Comcast] goes down, the picture freezes, the high speed internet is slow and none existent [not working at all] in the process, my Vonage VOIP system is down and out as well.

When Comcast is down everything is down. So what do I do, I call customer service, I am immediately placed on hold, finally 22 minutes later someone answers. As I was trying to explain to the customer service rep my issues and concerns that I am having with their service, the rep asks me if they can place me on hold for just one minute, and they do, approximately 7 minutes later, I get disconnected...I guess they had enough of my complaint. Needless to say, this is not the first and probably won't be the last time this happens. I decided to call back, but eventually after being on hold for many more minutes, I just gave up.

A few days later my girlfriend and I rented a movie from the On-Demand menu. We started to watch the movie and it was scrambled, we could not see any of it. Since I am not really good at dealing with stressful situations, I asked my girlfriend to call Comcast, and she did. After many minutes on hold she finally reaches a Customer Service Rep. She explains what has happened, and the Rep apologizes and asks her to test another movie, to make sure the system is functioning properly [she also said that we will NOT be charged for these movies, and I actually believed her...] Long story short, the second movie was also scrambled, and now to Comcast it appears that we watched 2 movies with a total charge of approximately $10, but, not to worry since we will not be charged for these movies, RIGHT?!!?!! Well, we move forward one month and I receive my Comcast Statement, and what do I see, both movies charged, plus all applicable taxes and even though Comcast looses its signal numerous times throughout the month, I am always charged for the entire month with no discount applied. What happens if I were to be late just 1 minute with paying of the bill, their system would instantly disconnect me. Why is it that their system is never wrong when it comes to us not paying on time and when it favors them, yet always at fault with incorrect charges that do not favor us, the Consumer and their customers?

How can I deal with this constant frustration and company that always demands for me to pay on time, but yet they do not take the responsibility for their own actions? Whether the system is down, or their features and services which we pay for are never rendered, yet they always seem to charge us, and the only way to get your money back is by obviously calling Customer Service and complaining. This is almost like an OPT OUT system that the Banks and Credit Card companies implement, they charge and hope that people wont notice, and if they do notice hope that by being on hold for 10, 20 or even 30 minutes will discourage them and they will eventually just give up and hang up...

Mac Computers - MLS - MLXchange - Real Estate and Safari

As a friend of Realtors and a MAC user, I find it quite frustrating when my Real Estate friends try to access the MLXchange.com website using a MAC and they receive the following error message:

So what is all of this mean? Well, it means that if you are using a Mac computer a Mac Laptop and Safari or any browser via a Mac computer you will receive the above error message. In todays world, this should not happen, but for some strange reason the MLS people do not seem to care about the Mac Users. But, www.MACmls.com seems to care and they are working on a solution, hopefully within the next few weeks every Real Estate Agent with a Mac computer will be able to access the MLXchange.com website...

Organic Grocery Stores and Apples and My Feelings...

My life is quite complicated, even something as simple as going to the grocery store turns into a very interesting and somewhat upsetting experience.

As I go visit my local Whole Foods, which I believe I frequent more often then is really necessary, I find myself in the produce area. I reach towards one of my favorite fruits, The Apple, not just any Apple, the Red Delicious Kind, and again, not just any Red Delicious Kind of Apple, but the Organic Red Delicious Kind. Which, on a good day costs about $1.49 per pound to as much as $3.49 per pound. To put that into perspective, one apple equals approximately $2.00. Regardless of the cost, I love these apples.

Now back to my encounter, the process of picking out Apples is complicated in itself, I have to get 2 bags, one for the apples and the other for my hand, so I can pick up the apples and not contaminate the apples [obviously I know that others do not follow the same etiquette]. Finally, I reach in and look at the little sticker that is placed on the apples [fruits in general] and what do I see, Washington Organic Red Delicious Apples, I get so excited, these apples for me are the best by far. Then as I reach for the second apple, I notice another sticker, that is a completely different brand/company/farm/people/trees/apples and in this case Continent, but still considered to be red delicious, from New Zealand, or somewhere quite far far away from here. Then the third apple, again, a different label, from another farm within the U.S.A.. All these apples are placed within the same bin at Whole Foods.

Well, to some people this does not mean much, but to me it is like combining Grapes of the same variety from different Regions to make Wine. I do not believe that any Winery would even consider doing this, that's why they have their own Vineyards. So why do Organic Grocers not give us the same respect and place each brand in separate bins, not only do they use this practice with apples but with most of the other fruits as well. I really don't understand this, even though they are Red Delicious Apples, they all taste different, so why sell them as one kind. I hope that someone at these Grocery Stores will put a little more effort into this, considering they are charging quite a lot of money for these apples, and its not my job to do the sorting of the apples for Whole Foods or any other Grocery Store...

Realtors, Real Estate Agents and Advertising

Real Estate Agents and the MLS and Advertising...

I am looking to move and find that perfect new home. Obviously nowadays you depend on a Professional by the name of Real Estate Agent / Broker. But, not only do you have to figure out and understand who your agent is but also the sellers agent. Today I am upset with an advertisement I noticed on Realtor.com.

It goes like this: Brand New Townhome close to Las Olas Boulevard, just blocks away from the best Restaurants, Shopping, beach and night life for $2,200 [Rental]. So what do I do, I quickly call my real estate agent and have him set up an appointment and place a contract on it before I even have the chance to view the property. Why do you ask, because typically these properties rent for approximately $4,000 per month. Now I am all excited, later to find out that the ad was misleading, its a seasonal rental and its $2,200 per WEEK not per MONTH, even though in the ad it does not specify.

Did the Realtor know what he was doing when placing the ad, definitely, but there is no one to monitor this, therefore, I went from excitement to anger and sadness. Oh well, we live in a place where the Realtors are not only Realtors, but part time business people, car salesman, tile layers, landlords and many other professions. Just imagine if the Doctor who is about to operate on you is also a landscaper, landlord, car salesman, but he is performing surgeries on a part time basis. That obviously does not make sense and neither should a part time Real Estate Agent...

Credit Cards, Banks, Fees, Money, Dollars and Customer Service

Credit Card companies and the Banks, best rates, best costumer service... How can we function without them?

I can surely function without their toll free, 800 numbers, customer service, snail mail and perhaps the most annoying of all "email". Well, image you have been a customer of theirs for many many years and have a bunch of their credit cards, including the Platinum Credit Card that they offer, so why then do I continue receiving emails from them congratulating me on this special offer; since you are a valued and preferred customer we offer you a gold card with $500.00 limit, no annual fees, no fees at all. Well, considering that I have their Platinum Card, why would I want to receive their gold card with a $500.00 Limit? I do not understand how they run a billion dollar business and have no communication between departments. I am so annoyed by this, and if you call customer service they have different departments [in different countries] answering based on the type of Credit Card you have, and obviously they do not communicate or share information amongst themselves, therefore, not knowing their customers, yet they claim to have top customer satisfaction for xxx amount of years running...PLEASE!

Restaurants and Pets and Cloth Napkins

As I was driving past a restaurant in Aventura, Florida looking for a parking spot, where we had plans to enjoy a wonderful lunch. We watched as a man and his pet dog were having lunch together, to my amazement the gentleman took the cloth napkin provided by the restaurant free of charge and perhaps meant to be used strickly by Humans [I assume] and started wiping his dogs wet and drooling face not thinking about who will have the pleasure of using this specific napkin next. Needless to say we had no desire to eat at that restaurant any longer...

AKA - slobber, dribble, drivel, saliva, spittle, spit - a clear liquid secreted into the mouth by the salivary glands and mucous glands of the mouth; moistens the mouth and starts the digestion of starches.]

The beginning of the end for my OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

What is this blog all about? Well, its about my life and the way I see things through my eyes also known as my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder [OCD].

JustProtest.com was created years ago for this specific topic and issue, how and why I am bothered by so many things in our day to day living. From walking down the street to sitting at a desk at the office. It does not matter where I am or what I am doing my OCD always seems to get the best of me.

I will try to share some of my issues and concerns I have about regular things that we experience on a daily basis, which, might or might not be such "a big deal" for some of you, but it definitely is for me and I assume a handful of other people out there suffering from the same disorder that I have.
